The Power of Editing (Poetry)
Online workshop - Saturday 23rd January 2027
Available spots
Course Description
Editing may not be the sexiest part of the writing process - but it is one of the most important. Join poet, author and editor Stefan Mohamed (The Revelation Tapes, Farewell Tour, The Marketplace of Ideas) for an in-depth workshop exploring the process of editing poetry, from the deceptively major impact of a line break, to maintaining continuity of voice, via the endless delights of formatting. Full of tips and strategies honed from decades of poetry writing (and working with excellent poetry editors), this workshop will show you just how many tools you have at your disposal when editing your poetry - and how satisfying it can be when you use them effectively. The session will take place over Zoom on Saturday the 23rd of January, 11am - 1:30pm (UK time). Zoom links will be sent to participants a week before the workshop. ~ Stefan Mohamed is an award-winning author, poet, editor and creative writing tutor. He is the author of five novels, including 2025's The House on Utopia Way, and five books of poetry, including The Revelation Tapes, which came out in 2026 with Broken Sleep Books. He lives in Bristol with his family and cat. He is also a DJ.
