Course Description

How do we maintain momentum and stay inspired with our writing? Join award-winning author, poet and editor Stefan Mohamed for a talk and discussion session exploring ways to stay motivated as a writer. There are all sorts of hurdles to navigate, from personal responsibilities, mental health struggles and burnout to the systemic frustrations that come with pursuing writing professionally, and they can all get in the way of the really important thing - being creative, and enjoying writing! Suitable for prose writers, poets and playwrights, this friendly and supportive session will be full of insights, tips and strategies gathered from decades of writing in both personal and professional capacities, with space for participants to share their own stories. The session will take place over Zoom on Saturday the 16th of January 2027, 11am - 1:00pm (UK time). Zoom links will be sent to participants a week before the workshop. ~ Stefan Mohamed is an award-winning author, poet, editor and creative writing tutor. He is the author of five novels, including 2025's The House on Utopia Way, and five books of poetry, including The Revelation Tapes, which came out in 2026 with Broken Sleep Books. He lives in Bristol with his family and cat. He is also a DJ.
