Assembling a Poetry Collection
Online workshop - Saturday 21st November 2026
Available spots
Course Description
What sort of decisions are involved when putting together a poetry collection or pamphlet? Join poet Stefan Mohamed, author of three full-length poetry collections (The Revelation Tapes, Farewell Tour and PANIC!) and two pamphlets (Something Man-Made Is Here And It Is Dangerous and The Marketplace of Ideas), for an in-depth workshop looking at the process of assembling a book of poetry. How do we decide which poems to include, and what order to put them in? How do we come up with an over-arching concept for a collection - and is a concept always necessary? How important is it to bring an editor into the process? And exactly how long should we spend staring at the wall trying desperately to think of a title for the thing? The session will take place over Zoom on Saturday the 21st of November, 11am - 1:30pm (UK time). Zoom links will be sent to participants a week before the workshop. ~ Stefan Mohamed is an award-winning author, poet, editor and creative writing tutor. He is the author of five novels, including 2025's The House on Utopia Way, and five books of poetry, including The Revelation Tapes, which came out in 2026 with Broken Sleep Books. He lives in Bristol with his family and cat. He is also a DJ.
